Summary

Sandra Bamminger, was born in Wels, Austria and she studied at Central St Martins College, London where she was chosen to show her graduation collection at the prestigious press show. Since her first manufactured collection inspired by Kinetics in 2000, she has had various shows and exhibitions. On completing her first independent show for the Alternative Fashion Week in Spitalfields she was offered a fashion show on the fringe of London fashion week at the Austrian Trade Commission in September 2001. Following this Bamminger has presented at Biennials, festivals and independent exhibitions in London, Liverpool, Glastonbury, The Hague and Vienna, all of which featured collaborative work. Under the label The House of Boing, she has worked with African, Caribbean, Indian and contemporary dancers and acrobats and together with fellow choreographers, lighting designers, photographers, filmmakers, musicians and web designers she has organised group shows and independent exhibitions. Bamminger has worked on various costume commissions and hired collections to London Shops and New York stylists. She is starting to expand The House of Boing, creating kids and maternity designs and translating them into handmade soft furnishings for the home.
