Peter Mumford specialises in lighting and stage design. He trained in theatre design at the Central School of Art, and went on to work world-wide, in the fields of dance, opera and theatre. He has worked with companies including the London Contemporary Dance Theatre, Welsh National Opera, Scottish Opera, English National Opera, Second Stride, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Rambert Dance Company, The Royal Opera and Ballet, The Metropolitan Opera New York, The Almeida Theatre, The Royal Court, The Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre. In 1995 he won the Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance for Ashley Page's Fearful Symmetries and Siobhan Davies's The Glass Blew In and the Olivier Best Lighting Design in 2003. He has directed dance and opera for TV, including Siobhan Davies' White Man Sleeps, Wyoming and White Bird Featherless and Adventures in Motions Pictures' Swan Lake. Mumford first collaborated with Siobhan Davies on Something to Tell for London Contemporary Dance Theatre in 1980.
